The USC2 is having issues with selections using the keypad. Ron Rich suggested the issue was with the MicroLog unit. I'm searching for a trouble shooting guide. I'd love to buy Rons, but I'm having trouble even paying rent right now. Besides, I don't need even more clutter around the house when a PDF version would suffice, which he does not offer.

Update: 5 hours later. By a shear act of God, stoke of accidental luck, call it what you will, after apologizing profusely to my client for not having it ready for him yesterday [hey, unforeseen circumstances happen. Sadly it always seems to happen just when the client comes to pick up the machine], I was putting the amp and DCC controller back together in the cabinet and snugging up connectors and wouldn't you know it, the #1 button started working again. Let this be a reminder to me to always check connectors thoroughly [again]. Apparently the pins in the transmitter connector were fouled and intermittently not making contact, causing the MCU to get a false reading and throwing out the "reset and re-enter light". After cleaning the contacts and re-seating the connector, this left me with the previous issue of checking if 178, 19, 278, & 279 were going to play. Sure enough that issue was solved as well. But with yet another problem. The record cradle was out of alignment, which meant the Tormat had to be realigned too. To tell you the truth, if my clients ever knew how much work there was to do on these machines, they would pity me. And if I ever charged them for the hours that it really takes me to do this job, they could never afford it.

2 days later: the machine is ready to go. Fire it up for one last test... Yep, doing it again. The capacitors on the power supply of the DCC unit are the first step in troubleshooting this issue. Contacts are clean and making. Ordered new cap kit from Ebay. Turns out its my old vendor Bill Bickers. Jukeboxfridaynight.com Thanks Bill! Expected by this Saturday.
